Dr. LO’s story
I was born and raised in Iran.
I graduated in the University of Teheran in 1995 and worked in the hospital system in Iran before granted my MD degree in 2000.
Since 2000 to 2007 I have worked in my private clinics and many hospitals in Iran in internal medicine and primary care.
I immigrated to the US in 2007, staying in Southern California every since. I have started working on my USMLE since 2006 and I passed my entire USMLE step 1, step 2 CK and step 2 CS and got my ECFMG certificate in year 2016.
Besides my work on USMLEs, I have been volunteering for many hospitals and clinic locally where I live in Southern California, e.g. Riverside Hospital as an assistant shadowing many physicians. Mainly the patients are internal medicine, family practice in primary care realm.
I also volunteer at Glendale Free Clinic for about a year at this period.
I have applied for medical residency programs since 2015 until 2017 and I stopped since I have spent a lot of money, but I got no interviews.
I believe this is a waste of talents and workforce for our healthcare system.
I found out about the PhA Organization and want to join the project activities. I believe this is a very good opportunity, solution for the current situation.
Thanks for reading my story
